rats and rabid dogs

Dear friends,

We are in the process of moving to the new ministry area. We know the Lord has opened the doors for us, but for me it is a time that God is really testing me. I have some very human fears and one of them is rats. There are some very large rats in the sugar cane fields which will surround our new home. They are cane rats; the size of medium dogs.
The stray dogs I have seen in the area of our new home look like they are starving to death or have rabies. So with rabid dogs and large rats I am saying, "Lord, why me?"
I am not so concerned about the deadly black and green mambas (snakes) or pythons that are in the area.
Then the other day, another of my worst fears fire, just before they cut the sugar cane they set fire to the fields. This will be a time of testing for me and I am slowly realizing God has put all my worst fears together in one place, Vulvulane (our new home) and that God does have a sense of humour! AMEN

Hope School Snapshot:Ngoskio

Ngoskio is 17 years old and dreams of being a soldier but like so many of his peers he is trying to raise his two younger brothers ages 14 and 13 years old. His parents died from AIDs. In January 2009, he dropped out of public school to run the streets with his brothers committing crimes. No amount of prayer/counselling will persaude them to return to school, so we offer them a meal at Hope School and encourage them to work around the school to earn money to support themselves. We also let them join in on the lessons. We pray for Christian adult male mentors for these boys.
